Starting from 12 January 2017, when the December Resolution of the City Council entered into force, the residents could apply for funding to replace their obsolete coal fires with new, gas-powered, sources of heat.
The subsidy to be obtained from the city ranges from PLN 7000 to PLN 20 000. This support, however, cannot exceed 75% of the actual costs of a project involving.
• the liquidation of a solid-fuel boiler or hearth, and the installation of a new, gas-powered source of heat – PLN 7000 for private individuals and sole traders, PLN 15 000 for tenants’ associations, legal persons, and businesses;
• the liquidation of the heating source currently being used, the installation of an independent heat-distribution system, and connection to the city heating system – PLN 10 000 for private individuals and sole traders, PLN 20 000 for tenants’ associations, legal persons, and businesses;
Those who wish to receive funding this year must file the application by 31 March 2017 (the funding application will be deemed filed on the date of its receipt by the Environmental Protection Department). It is a multiannual programme – and this is just the beginning. Funding will also be available in the years to come.
Funding opportunities are also still open for projects involving environmental protection and water management. Support can be obtained for, e.g.,
• The liquidation of holding tanks and the provision of horizontal pipes – the removal and treatment of asbestos;
• the use of renewable energy sources.
